DPPIR9- This is a new #9 resistor for the Pump Mounted Driver unit (PMD). INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS – PMD RESISTOR
Each size you go up in your resistor you increase fuel pressure by 1.5%.
For instance, the #9 resistor will have 6% more fuel delivery than a #5. Or if you have a #1 resistor, you'll get 12% more fuel with a #9.
If purchasing a new PMD, you will be required to either use your existing resistor or a new one.
Installation of a PMD resistor is accomplished by first removing the old resistor from
the PMD. First remove the wiring harness to access the female pronged receptacle
on the PMD. Using an o-ring pick, gently insert the tip of the pick into one of the
outer holes in the resistor. Using slight force, angle the pick back and upward to
remove the resistor.
To install the new resistor, line up the notched area with the curvature of the
resistor and place it over the prongs. Using a small screw driver, gently force the
resistor down over the prongs until it bottoms out in the PMD. Slight force may be
needed to seat the resistor onto the prongs. Use caution not to bend any of the
prongs during removal on installation.
